RIL to start 4G trials in Jamnagar soon

Mukesh Ambani’s next big idea — rollout of commoditised fourth-generation 4G telecom services across the country — is taking concrete shape.
After announcing last month that Nagpur would be a hub for its 4G operations, trials are set to begin for services at Reliance Industries’ (RIL) massive complex in Jamnagar next month, in a pilot before the project is escalated nationwide.
An RIL spokesperson refused to comment.
The megacorp is expected to begin rolling out services using the ultra-fast Long Term Evolution or LTE technology.

RCom says offers next generation 3G services soon

Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications (RCom) said it would be amongst the first private operators to launch its next generation 3G service offerings very soon.

We are not going to wait for the other operators launch and then position ourselves…ours will be among the early launches and it will be very soon, the company’s Chief Executive, Akshay Kumar, told reporters here without giving an exact date.

Reliance offers same rate for local and STD calls

Reliance Communications rolled out a Simply Reliance plan on its CDMA and GSM networks yesterday.

Anil Ambani, chairperson, Reliance Communications, called the plan a, game changing move because it has a single rate for all local and STD calls to any mobile or landline network, anytime, anywhere in India.

The plan entails a single rate of 50 paise per minute for all local and STD calls.

The rates are the same for SMSes.

RCom offers 50 paise a minute plan across the India

Reliance Communications (RCom) on Monday launched a new ‘Simply Reliance Plan’ on its CDMA and GSM networks, which offers a single rate of 50 paise per minute across the country with no hidden charges.

The Anil Ambani group firm will also pull-out all existing plans by mid-October to offer only the new plan to all pre-paid and post-paid users.

From tomorrow, every Indian consumer can enjoy up to 46 per cent saving in their monthly bill. It is available to any category, any technology across India. It is definitely affordable to every consumer be it rural or urban, Reliance Communications’ C hief Marketing Officer, Personal Business, Nilanjan Mukherjee, told reporters here.

Reliance Communications To Launch 3G Communication Services

SK C and C India and Reliance Communications (RCOM) have entered into a partnership agreement to facilitate the roll-out of network and services on next generation 3G / 4G platform. Reliance will utilize the knowledge and expertise of SK C and C, a systems service provider to SK Telecom, to build IP backbone network to process voice communication and data and develop plans to optimize the design of base stations for efficient linkage. Under the agreement, Reliance will have access to the know-how and knowledge of the best practice at SK Telecom to enhance the quality of its services by building a high-capacity, integrated (wireless and wire line) and convergent (voice, data and video) digital network for 3G Network and WiMax.
