Reliance launches unlimited local, STD call schemes

Spiking up competition in the CDMA mobile telephony space, Reliance Communications today said that it will offer unlimited talktime to its subscribers for minimal one-time monthly charges.

Moving away from conventional tariff metering plans, RCom said that it will offer customers with unlimited local calls at a monthly fixed charge of Rs 299, and unlimited STD calls at a fixed charge of Rs 599.

The schemes are applicable only for CDMA users. Under the new Simply Unlimited CDMA Offer, RCom will launch two unique calling packs, one for local calls and the other for STD ones.

Reliance launched Magic @ Re 1 plan in AP

Reliance Communications today introduced a new ”’Magic @ Re 1 plan” in Andhra Pradesh in which the new CDMA subscribers can make local calls at 60 paise per minute and STD calls at Re 1.20 per minute, by paying a rental of just Rs one per day.

Customers could avail this offer by recharging their prepaid mobile with Rs 26 and enjoy the benefits valid for Life time, a press release said here.

Reliance Mobile user base increases to 1.11 crore subscribers


Monthly addition in the GSM (global system for mobile communications) subscriber base touched a record 10.84 million in March, despite the economic slowdown. And experts suggest that growth in user numbers would increase even further.

According to TV Ramachandran, director general of the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the monthly GSM subscriber addition could touch as much as 15 million some time this year.

Reliance Communications to invest $1 bn for 3G rollout


Anil Ambani’s Reliance Communications (RCOM) has set aside $1 billion for its 3G (third generation) telecom services rollout. The approximately Rs 4,700 crore investment in 3G, will be funded through RCOM’s internal cash reserves of Rs 12,000 crore.
