Reliance Industries biggest wealth creator in FY09, Unitech fastest
The country’s largest company Reliance Industries has emerged as the biggest wealth creator in the 2009 fiscal, generating Rs 1,51,400 crore, which accounted for over 15 per cent of the total wealth created during the year in the country, a study has said.
Leading brokerage firm Motilal Oswal, in a study released here today, said oil and gas has been the biggest wealth creator during the past six years–the first three years led by state-run oil and gas major ONGC and the next three by RIL.

The head of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, is once again the wealthiest person in India. His net worth is put at 32 billion dollars, an increase of 54 percent from nearly 21 billion dollars last year, according to the latest Forbes’ India Rich List.

Mukesh ranks 3rd, Anil stood 6th in ‘Forbes list of ten wealthiest CEOs’
Trailing behind him are Lakshmi Mittal with a net worth of 30 billion dollars, up 46 percent from 20.5 billion dollars, and Mukesh’s estranged brother, Anil, whose net worth of 17.5 billion dollars, 40 percent, higher than before, put him in the third place.

Anil Ambani visits Meenakshi temple
Industrialist Anil Ambani along with his mother Kokila Ben Ambani offered prayers in Meenakshi Sundareswar Temple here on Sunday.
Temple Trust Chairman Karumuttu T Kannan received Anil and his mother. Both offered prayers at Amman Sannadhi, Swami Sannadhi, Mukkuruni Vinayagar Sannadhi and Navagraha Sannadhi and offered special poojas. Later, they headed to Rameswaram by helicopter. The police had intensified the security in the temple due to his visit.

Reliance industries ranked 121st in Forbes Global 2000 List
Capital - have been dropped from the Forbes ‘Global 2000 List’ this year.
Four Indian companies - Hero Honda Motors, Sun Pharma, Indian Bank and Jindal Steel and Power Ltd - are the new entrants to the list.
The top 10 Indian companies are: Reliance Industries (121), State Bank of India Group (150) Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (152) Indian Oil Corporation (207) NTPC (317), ICICI Bank (329), Tata Steel (463), Bharti Airtel (508), Steel Authority of India (582) and Reliance Communications (689).
