Big Entertainment tie-up with Amitabh Bachchan AB Corp
Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan’s AB Corp has inked a Rs.15 billion ($375 million) deal with Anil Ambani’s Reliance Big Entertainment for making films and serials.
Bachchan says this collaboration is the result of a synergy of their professions. They are in the business of making content and we have been in the business of giving content its creativity. The two have now come together for mutual benefit, he said.

Reliance Big Entertainment has entered into a strategic alliance with music company T-Series and Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Company (Hungama Mobile) wherein all three companies will co-own the current and future music catalogue of Rel Big Entertainment.

Reliance Media World will list on stock exchanges today
Reliance Media World, part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, will list on Indian stock exchanges on Friday, a top official said on Thursday.
The company, which runs a radio business and outdoor advertising activities, was de-merged from Reliance Media Works, which was formerly called Adlabs and operates cinema theatres.
Shareholders of Reliance Media World were issued one share for each held in Reliance Media Works.

Big Entertainment Sign up Deal With Imagine Entertainment
Reliance BIG Entertainment has signed a development-production financing deal with Hollywood filmmakers Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment. Reliance BIG is the media and entertainment arm of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group.
Their first project, titled Mofos, will be a comedy revolving round a group of youngsters who are unemployed, strapped for cash, down on their luck and decide to start a business as Los Angeles’ most unlikely male escorts.

Sanjeev Lamba new CEO of Reliance BIG Pictures
Anil Ambani Group firm Reliance Big Entertainment has appointed Sanjeev Lamba as CEO for its Motion Pictures Business, Reliance BIG Pictures.
Sanjeev has more than 25-years of experience in advertising, consumer products licensing, video games and movies, a company statement said.
Prior to joining Reliance Big Pictures, Sanjeev worked with Ogilvy and Mather in Mumbai and New Delhi, The Walt Disney Company in Hong Kong, Tokyo and California and the Weinstein Company in New York.

Big Pictures has distribution rights for Kites and 3 Idiots
Big Pictures, the distribution-cum-production arm of Reliance Big Entertainment, has acquired distribution rights of two of the years biggest blockbusters - Kites and 3 Idiots- for roughly Rs 130 crore.
The buzz in Bollywood circles is that the domestic distribution rights of the Rakesh Roshan-produced and Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori-starrer Kites has been lapped up in the region of Rs 90 crore. In the same breath, Aamir Khan-starrer 3 Idiots, directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, has been picked up for Rs 40 crore.

UTV Movies acquires rights for 25 Reliance BIG Entertainment films
UTV Movies, the premier Hindi movie channel from the UTV Network has acquired world telecast rights for 25 Reliance BIG Entertainment films, from which 20 films will be World TV Premieres.
The list of films includes blockbusters such as Rock On, Luck By Chance and Johnny Gaddaar. Other titles include recent films like 13B, Sikandar, Karzzzz, Aag, Marigold, Go, Love Story 2050, Summer 2007, Cash, Khoya Khoya Chand, Say! Salam India, Shiva, Gauri…, Eik Dastak and Black Friday. All these titles will be premiered for the first time on television on UTV Movies.

Rush Hour director ties up with Reliance Big Entertainment
Hollywood filmmaker Brett Ratner, who has made films like Rush Hour and X-Men: The Last Stand, has tied up with Reliances Big Entertainment to bring cinematic material from all over the world to India.
He has now acquired a French graphic novel on behalf of the production house to be made into a film.
Its to be titled Infinity. It will be directed by Sylvain White. I feel the boundaries between Bollywood and world cinema are evaporating. And material with a strong visual appeal will enable Bollywood to go global, Ratner told IANS over phone from Berlin.

Reliance Big Pictures plans to take Bollywood films to US and Malaysia
In a bid to create a larger audience base for Bollywood films, Reliance Big Pictures plans to acquire multiple screens in the US and Malaysia.
The company is keen to tap the 50 million strong Indian diaspora in South Asia. “It would be the first independent circuit for Indian cinema,” company’s chairman Amit Khanna, who is here to market Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Kites’, said.
Big Pictures also plans to invest $300 million into Indian based film productions till December 2010.
