Reliance Power gets $80-mn export financing nod from US Exim Bank

The Export-Import Bank of the US has approved a $80.32 million (over Rs 400 crore) direct loan for Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group firm R-Power’s purchase of solar power technology from American companies.
The technology would be purchased from companies in eight states of the US and would be used for R-Power (Reliance Power) solar energy project in Rajasthan, India.
The Exim Bank said that its board has approved the loan for this project, named Rajasthan Sun Technique Energy Private Limited — a subsidiary of R-Power and being co-financed by Asian Development Bank and Dutch development bank.

Reliance Power plans over Rs 6,000 crore investment in Rajasthan
Reliance Power plans to invest more than Rs 6,000 crore for solar power generation projects in Rajasthan in the next two years, its Chairman has said.
Anil Ambani group firm Reliance Power commissioned a 40 mega watt solar power plant in Rajasthan, which is the country’s largest solar project so far. Another 100 mega watt capacity would be added at the site in the next one year.

Reliance Power starts third unit at Rosa
Reliance Power has commissioned another 300-mw unit of its power project at Rosa in Uttar Pradesh, taking the total capacity to 900 mw, the company said on Wednesday.
Announcing the commissioning on the 80th birth anniversary of Dhirubhai Ambani, Reliance Power Chief Executive Officer J P Chalsani said the plant was operating at 85% capacity and Chinese equipment, sourced from the Shanghai Electric Company, was functioning well.

Reliance Power gets High Court okay to merge RNRL with self
Reliance Power on Friday said that the Bombay High Court has approved the merger of Reliance Natural Resources (RNRL) and other group companies with itself.
The court approval follows shareholders’ consent to the merger of Reliance Futura and its arms, and group company RNRL with Reliance Power. Reliance Futura’s subsidiaries being merged with Reliance Power are — Atos Trading, Atos Mercantile, Coastal Andhra Power Infrastructure and Reliance Prima.

RNRL to be merged with Reliance Power
The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) has decided to merge Reliance Natural Resources Ltd (RNRL), its gas trading subsidiary, with Reliance Power.
The boards of both the companies will meet on Sunday to consider the proposal. Though R-Power and RNRL spokespersons declined to share any details, the two companies informed of the development to the stock exchanges after close of trading.
Last week, Mukesh Ambani-promoted Reliance Industries (RIL) and RNRL had signed a revised gas sale master agreement (GSMA) pursuant to the Supreme Court’s May 7 judgment, where it had turned down RNRL’s plea for cheap gas from RIL based on a family agreement.

Reliance Power moves SC over Dadri land project
Anil Ambani’s Reliance Power Ltd (RPL) has moved to the Supreme Court challenging the Allahabad High Court’s verdict that had in effect cancelled the acquisition of 2,500 acres of agricultural land for the group’s Rs 25,000-crore gas-based Dadri power plant. The matter is coming up for hearing this week.
RPL (formerly known as Reliance Energy Generation Ltd) in its SLP said that the high court had erred in exercising its discretionary jurisdiction in the petitions filed by the farmers after a delay of four years and the same had put an industrial project of national importance in jeopardy.
