Reliance today announced the launch of Games based on Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) which allows its GSM mobile subscribers to play Games from their mobile phone requiring real-time messaging services.

There’s a new Pied Piper in town. Long curly locks, face covered behind a beard, a flute on his lips, he is here to eradicate telecom irritants that niggle the phone user.
Meet Hrithik Roshan, the brand ambassador of telecom operator Reliance Mobile, who in a television ad is seen playing the flute and enticing a pack of digitally created mice — the irritants — leap off a cliff, much like the fictional flautist.
The television commercial is inspired by the famous tale of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, said Sanjay Behl, head of branding and communications at Reliance Communications that owns Reliance Mobile.

The war related with tariff war in the Indian mobile service is still going on. Tariffs for voice and roaming services were reduced and now operators are thinking to introduce plans in the SMS space.

LG Electronics a worldwide technology and design leader in mobile communications, today unveiled Vx10000 the high end CDMA mobile phone in India with Reliance Mobile. The Vx10000 looks very similar to HTC mobile phones and the Nokia E90 the communicators but unlike the communicator this will have a 2.8 inch full touch screen display. The LG Vx10000 is a dual screen phone, two 400×240 widescreen LCDs drive the unit, and both the internal and external screens measure 2.81″ diagonally.

Does BlackBerry work on GPRS or the CDMA data platform?
BlackBerry works on the CDMA platform on the Reliance CDMA network and on GPRS/EDGE on the Reliance GSM network.
A GSM BlackBerry cannot work on a CDMA network.
