Reliance Infra quotes Rs42 crore for Kandla-Mundra road project

After bagging the Rs 1,725 crore Pune-Satara highway project last week from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Reliance Infrastructure is inching closer to the Rs 1,000 crore Kandla-Mundra road project, spanning 71 km, in Gujarat.

The company has quoted the maximum premium amount (negative viability gap funding) worth Rs 42 crore, among five other contestants. The GVK-led consortium, coming second, had quoted a premium of Rs 30.6 crore.

Reliance Infrastructure net profit rises 6 percent

Reliance Infrastructure Ltd said its profit for the second quarter rose six per cent to Rs 307 crore on the back of strong performance in the engineering and procurement segment, even as the sales volumes of electrical energy fell 17.84 per cent year on year.

Total operating income for the second quarter of financial year 2009-10 fell seven per cent to Rs 2,649.56 crore. At the end of July-September quarter the company had an order book position of Rs 19,620 crore and is working on six power projects and one road project.

Reliance Infra ready to pay marketing margin to RIL on D6 gas sale

In a sharp contrast to its earlier stance over payment of marketing margin to Reliance Industries on sale of D6 gas, Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Infrastructure has agreed to pay the levy under protest for restoration of supplies at its Andhra Pradesh power plant. We hereby inform you that we are instructing the bank to effect full payment of the invoice amount, including the marketing margin element, strictly without prejudice to our rights and contentions regarding the same, Reliance Infrastructure wrote to Reliance Industries on Oct 7.

Reliance infra is now largest Infrastructure project implementer

The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani (ADA) group’s Reliance Infrastructure (R-Infra) has opened two road projects worth Rs 760 crore in Tamil Nadu, the first infrastructure projects to become operational from its stable.

Lalit Jalan, chief executive of R-Infra, said the company would complete and operationalise another five road projects within the next 18 months.

Besides, R-Infra is currently implementing three metro and three power transmission projects, altogether involving an investment of about Rs 25,000 crore.

Reliance Infra May Sell Shares in Units, Standard Says

Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. may sell shares in its power distribution and metro project units to the public and strategic partners to unlock value, Business Standard newspaper reported, citing two company officials it didn’t name.

Reliance Power, an electricity generation company, was spun off Reliance Infrastructure and listed on Indian exchanges after the nation’s biggest initial share sale of 110 billion rupees in early 2008, the paper said.

Reliance Infra asks RIL to withdraw marketing margins on gas supply

Terming as illegal marketing margins charged by RIL on gas supplied to it, Anil Ambani group firm Reliance Infra has asked the Mukesh Ambani-led company to withdraw these charges and refund the payments it had made till now.

The charge towards the marketing margin imposed by you (RIL) … for sale of gas is illegal, unauthorised and unwarranted, Reliance Infra has written to RIL, which is supplying 0.55 mmscmd gas to the Anil Ambani group firm under an agreement signed in April this year.

Reliance Infra to pay compensation to Rajiv Gandhi thermal plant’s victim’s families

Reliance Infrastructure Limited Co. will pay compensation to the families of six workmen killed in a mishap at Rajiv Gandhi thermal plant Khedar near Hissar.

An amount of Rs 2718895/- will be paid as compensation to the families of six workers by Reliance under the workmen compensation act. Further the Haryana Government will pay Rs. 2 lakh each to the families of killed workers.

The thermal plant was rocked by a mishap on August 16 when six workers, including two Chinese nationals, were killed when a steel plate came off a crane during the erection of a chimney. The Chinese nationals were employees of a Chinese company to which Reliance has outsourced

RIL alleges exclusion from toll bidding

Anil Ambani’s Reliance Infrastructure Ltd is crying foul over its perceived illegal exclusion from the second round of the high-stake bidding process for the Rs 2,100-crore contract for toll collection at all the five entry points in Mumbai. The company, in a writ petition filed before the Bombay high court, claimed that the bidding outcome appeared to be pre-determined in favour of another bidder.

Work on second Mumbai metro line to start from tomorrow

The work on the 30km-long second metro line in the city connecting northern suburb Charkop and Mankhurd in the east will begin tomorrow with President Partibha Patil performing the bhumipujan.

The Rs 2,300 crore project would be developed by a consortium led by Anil Ambani’s Reliance Infrastructure and Canada’s SNC-Lavalin on Built-Operate-Transfer basis. The corridor will connect areas which did not have rail-based mass transport and has 27 stations. It is expected to be operational by 2015, Reliance Infrastructure had earlier said.

Reliance Infra gets contract for Rs11,000 crore 2nd Mumbai Metro line

Aconsortium of the Anil Ambani-led Reliance Infrastructure Ltd and Reliance Communications Ltd, and Canada’s SNC-Lavalin has won the contract for the Rs11,000 crore Mumbai Metro II project to link Navi Mumbai and Charkop and Mankhurd in suburban Mumbai.

Reliance Infrastructure, which is also building the 11km-long, Mumbai Metro I project along Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar in suburban Mumbai, was the sole bidder for the project.
