Reliance Infrastructure re-designates Lalit Jalan as CEO

Reliance Infrastructure today said it has re-designated its whole-time director Lalit Jalan as Chief Executive Officer but he will not be a part of the company board.
In a filing to the BSE, the Anil Ambani-led company said, “With a view to bifurcating the executive responsibilities from the board membership, Lait Jalan and S C Gupta have stepped down from the board”.
Gupta has been working in the company as its Director, Operations.
Reliance Infra’s Board, which met today, decided to make the changes.

Kingfisher may use Reliance Infrastructure to import aviation turbine fuel
Cash-strapped private airline Kingfisher is in talks with Reliance Industries to use the oil and gas major’s infrastructure and logistics support to transport imported jet fuel from ports to airports and deliver it to the aircraft, industry sources said.
A group of ministers on Tuesday recommended that airlines should be allowed to directly import aviation turbine fuel (ATF) for their own use, a move that cheers cash-strapped carriers as domestic fuel is costly because of heavy taxation and contributes significantly to their losses.

Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) today said it has won National Award for Innovative Training Practices for 2011.

Reliance Infra unveils Security Deposit Receipt Download Service for Mumbai consumers
This service will only be available to suburban Mumbai consumers, who are on RInfra’s distribution network and are using ‘My Account’ section of RInfra’s website, for their electricity related transactions.
Reliance Infrastructure Limited launched one more IT based online initiative for Mumbai suburban consumers. RInfra consumers, who have made their Security Deposits payment online, can now download their payment receipt and save it on computer and / or can take a printout.

R-Infra raises Rs 7k cr for second Mumbai Metro project
Reliance Infrastructure said on Thursday that it has tied up debt totalling Rs7,000 crore for developing the second Metro rail project in Mumbai, connecting the suburbs of Charkop, Bandra and Mankhurd. The total project cost is Rs11,500 crore.
Mumbai Metro Transport Private , the special purpose vehicle implementing the Charkop-Bandra-Mankhurd corridor, tied up the debt with seven financiers led by Axis Bank , the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group company said in a statement.

Reliance Infra power bills unlikely to rise
The 28 lakh suburban power consumers, who get their supply from Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra), are unlikely to have to pay more for electricity as the state Cabinet on Wednesday agreed in principle to once again stall its plan to hike tariff by 7%. The state government has the power to invoke
section 108 of the Electricity Act, 2003, to stay a tariff revision. The Congress government had used it last year too to stall a RInfra tariff hike.
On Wednesday, the Cabinet met after completing the day’s agenda, prompted by protests from the ruling Congress and Opposition parties. While the Congress and Shiv Sena activists had protested at RInfra’s office on Tuesday, the BJP had led an agitation on Wednesday.
