RComm denies involvement in 2G scam
Reliance Communications, the flagship company of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, on Sunday denied its involvement in the 2G-spectrum allocation scam.
Issuing a detailed clarification on the company’s link with Swan Telecom in the scam, Reliance Communications Wireless Business Chief Executive Syed Safawi said that the company did not violate any norms as it held only 9.9 per cent equity share capital in the firm at the time of applying for the 2G licences.

Reliance Communications launches job search on voice service
Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications has launched ‘job search on voice’ service that would enable its customers to connect to the recruiters directly on phone line at a subscription of Rs 30 per month.
Customers can avail these services by dialling 58010. The service has auto renewal facility with fallback options of Rs 20 for 20 days and Rs 10 for 10 days. No browsing charges are involved while the renewal grace period is three days.

RComm to offer live streaming of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011
ICC’s Cricket World Cups are the most prestigious and most widely followed event in India. Reliance Communication the ‘Global Partner’ for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 (ICC CWC 2011) organized a preview of the trophy at Mumbai today. Reliance Mobile also kicked off a series of promotional activities for ICC CWC 2011 as part of the partnership for the 2011 edition of the tournament scheduled to begin in February 2011. Live streaming of ICC World Cup on Reliance Mobile
Reliance Mobile will telecast live all ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 matches through its specially-created ICC zone on R-World VAS platform, a company official said here Wednesday.
Reliance Mobile customers will be able to keep a track of the 49 matches through WAP and SMS alerts. They will be able to watch live streaming of match highlights, previews and match roundups, and download wallpapers and ringtones on both GSM and CDMA networks.

Motricity Sign up Deal With RComm
Mobile data services company Motricity Inc. said in a regulatory filing Tuesday that it signed an agreement to roll out its mCore service with Indian wireless carrier Reliance Communications Ltd.
In the filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Motricity said the service, which lets wireless carriers get their users onto the Internet via mobile devices such as cell phones, will be used for Reliance’s mobile data services business. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Reliance Com in Talks to bring CDMA iPhone in India
Apple is holding talks to bring the iPhone to two of India’s biggest mobile phone operators, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.
Apple’s hit mobile device is currently available in India only through Bharti AirTel and Vodafone, whose cellular systems run on the GSM technology. But Apple is now talking with Tata Teleservices and Reliance Communications to introduce the iPhone on their networks, which run on the CDMA technology.

RCom says offers next generation 3G services soon
Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications (RCom) said it would be amongst the first private operators to launch its next generation 3G service offerings very soon.

Reliance Communications in Talks to Sell CDMA iPhone
Two Indian telecom operators are in talks with Apple Inc. to launch an iPhone in India based on the code division multiple access technology in a bid to tap the growing smartphone market in one of the world’s fastest-growing mobile markets, people familiar with the matter said.
The talks with Reliance Communications Ltd. and Tata Teleservices Ltd. which offer mobile phone services based on CDMA technology–come soon after news that Apple is making a version of its iPhone that Verizon Wireless will sell early next year in the U.S. Verizon Wireless offers mobile phone services based on CDMA technology.

Reliance launches unlimited local, STD call schemes
Spiking up competition in the CDMA mobile telephony space, Reliance Communications today said that it will offer unlimited talktime to its subscribers for minimal one-time monthly charges.
Moving away from conventional tariff metering plans, RCom said that it will offer customers with unlimited local calls at a monthly fixed charge of Rs 299, and unlimited STD calls at a fixed charge of Rs 599.
The schemes are applicable only for CDMA users. Under the new Simply Unlimited CDMA Offer, RCom will launch two unique calling packs, one for local calls and the other for STD ones.
