RCOM-BigFlix offers Movie at Rs 30 for Reliance 3G subscribers

(RCOM) has partnered with BigFlix, the digital media arm of the Reliance Group, to offer movies to all Reliance 3G subscribers. And the cost is just Rs 30 per movie. The company claims to be the first Telco to offer full-length movie streaming service in the country and further mentions that there will be no data charges or hidden costs.

Reliance Comm hits record low on Veritas report
Reliance Communications shares hit a record low of 59.45 rupees on Tuesday after a critical report from Canadian research firm Veritas, traders said. Shares in Reliance Communications, controlled by billionaire Anil Ambani, have been under pressure in recent years due to debt, fierce competition, and several unsuccessful attempts to raise funds by selling assets.

RCom undersea cable unit’s IPO launch likely in 5 weeks
Reliance Communications is likely to launch the estimated Rs 5,000 crore IPO of its undersea cable unit on Singapore stock exchange in four to five weeks.
RCom today announced that Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Ltd has approved the Initial Public Offer of the unit.
On June 12, 2012, the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Ltd has granted an eligibility to list to the business trust subject to the requisite conditions being satisfied, the company said in a filing to the BSE.
Meanwhile, an industry source said, This unit will be called Global Telecom Infrastructure Trust and the IPO is likely to be floated in next 4 to 5 weeks.

RCom to market Android devices for 2 years with 3G connection
Reliance Communications (RCom) today said it has entered into an exclusive partnership with Google to market all devices built on Android platform for two years in India with its 3G connection and other facilities.
“In line with the rapid growth of smartphones in the country, Reliance has
collaborated with Google to catapult the change by providing new experience to device users in terms of speed, coverage and app (applications) ecosystem across segments,” RCom’s Group Head for Brand and Marketing Sanjay Behl said in a statement.

Reliance Communication to ride on Android phone success in India
Every Google-endorsed Android smartphone that is sold in the country will now come bundled with a Reliance Communications mobile connection as the Anil Ambani company targets high-end users to ramp up subscribers.
RCOM and Google have entered into a two-year deal according to which all Google-endorsed android mobile devices from companies like Samsung, HTC, Sony Ericsson and LG will come with the telco’s third generation, or 3G, mobile connection with 1 GB of free downloads for the first six months.

RCom may launch Rs 7K cr IPO of Flag Telecom this qurater
In a bid to reduce its piling debt, Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications is looking to raise up to Rs 7,000 crore through Singapore listing of its undersea telecom infrastructure business unit, Flag Telecom, by offering around 75 per cent equity of the company.
According to investment banking sources, the company’s sub-sea telecommunications infrastructure network business is valued between Rs 7,500 crore to Rs 10,000 crore and by offering equity of up to 75 per cent, the company plans to raise between Rs 6,000 crore to Rs 7,000 crore through the issue which is likely to conclude within the current quarter.

Reliance Communications plans to list undersea cable arm
Anil Ambani’s Reliance Communications (RCOM) is likely to launch an initial public offering of about Rs 7,500 crore for its undersea cable unit Flag Telecom on the Singapore Stock Exchange, the debt-laden telecom major said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on Tuesday. The company may look to sell around 75% of its holding in Flag Telecom, which is being valued at Rs 7,500-10,000 crore.
“RCOM is evaluating a potential IPO listing in Singapore of its subsea telecommunications infrastructure network business, through a Singapore business trust,” the company statement said.

R-Com launches CDMA tablet
Reliance Communications Ltd introduced its CDMA tablet in the Kerala market on Monday. The fully loaded Android tablet was unveiled by Malayalam film star Jayaram at a function held here. With this launch, Reliance emerges as the first telecom operator in the country to offer tablets on both the 3G and CDMA networks.

Mr Rakesh Singh, Hub Head – Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Reliance Communications, said that the Reliance CDMA Tab is supported by Reliance’s CDMA network across 22 circles in over 1,000 towns in the country.
The device is priced at Rs 12,999 and is further bundled with attractive monthly and annual data plans.
