Reliance Comms mobile unit head Safawi leaving company
Reliance Communications said the head of its mobile business Syed Safawi is leaving the company after his contract ended, adding it would restructure the business to increase market competitiveness.
Safawi’s contract “has ended in the normal course and … is not being renewed”, Reliance Communications, India’s second-largest mobile phone carrier by subscribers, said in a statement late on Wednesday.

RCom in loan talks with China’s CDB
Reliance Communications , which has a USD 925 million convertible bond maturing in March and has failed so far in efforts to sell its tower unit, is in talks with China Development Bank for a loan to redeem the bond, a person with direct knowledge of the matter said.
The company, controlled by billionaire Anil Ambani, has been trying for more than a year to sell its tower business in a deal that could be worth more than USD 3 billion.

Reliance launches new prepaid scheme in Delhi
Telecom major Reliance Communications on Wednesday launched a new prepaid scheme, Mera Pack Rs.148, in Delhi that offers 1,500 minutes of local calls.
The scheme is available in both CDMA and GSM networks. The pack is valid for 30 days.
Customers can make 1,000 minutes of local calls to Reliance network and 500 minutes to other operators, the company said in a statement.
