ADAG stocks go up, RNRL feels the heat
With Reliance-Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) group officials launching damage controlling measures, stocks of all group companies, except for Reliance Natural Resources, rose on Monday as the market scaled 591 points.
Reliance Infrastructure was the highest gainer on the BSE, which went up by 8.48% to Rs 1,062. However, the court’s verdict prompted several analysts to again rate the RNRL stock as the company will be getting gas at a higher price from Reliance Industries, owned by Anil’s brother, Mukesh. Justice Katjus wife invested in funds of Anil Ambani group company
Was it a case of mistaken identity that led to recusal of Justice Markandey Katju from deciding a dispute between Mukesh Ambani owned RIL and BPCL over price differences in naptha supplied by the PSU?
Justice Katju, while recusing himself from the case, in which he heading a Bench had reserved judgment in September, had reasoned that his wife held shares in Reliance Industries. Reliance MediaWorks has a robust business model
From a post-production house to one of the leading entertainment companies, Reliance MediaWorks (formerly Adlabs) has come a long way. Mr Anil Arjun, Chief Executive Officer, expects a turnaround this year as a host of releases are lined up after a lull in April-June. He spoke to Business Line about the industry’s outlook, plans and the idea for brand change.
While you posted a loss in Q2, do you believe that it was still better with the new revenue sharing agreement in place?
We have seen a major gain in performance between Q1 and Q2. Our EBITDA from operations grew to Rs 35 crore and losses were down from Rs 65 crore (in the preceding quarter) to Rs 11 crore. Depreciation and interest were high because we went through a large capital expansion in the past year. I see a lot of benefits flowing from Q3 onwards and reflecting positively on our growth and profits.

Tina Ambani advocates five must-see films at the Mumbai Film Festival
I have always been proud to acknowledge that my roots lie in the film industry. My decade-long career in cinema has been both formative and empowering, and has contributed to my growth as a person. It led to my awareness and respect for the creative process, which metamorphosed into my affinity for art, leading to the establishment of the Harmony Art Foundation.
And with my personal evolution over the years came the realisation that we can’t live in individual, self-contained bubbles. We need to reach out and give back to the community, the society that has nourished us.

Tina Ambani on her latest venture ‘Mumbai Film Festival’
Here, Tina Ambani, who oversees the corporate social responsibility of the Reliance ADA Group, of which the film festival is a part of, talks about this year’s festival…
What prompted you to get the Reliance ADA Group to support the Mumbai Film Festival?
Cinema is an universal truth — the language of dreams. This language is spoken by all of us. Befittingly, Mumbai is called the city of dreams. The cradle of Indian cinema and home to the world’s largest film industry, it is a prolific manufacturer of dreams. More significant, it is a place where dreamers — filmmakers, actors, scriptwriters, composers — can turn their own visions of success into technicolour reality.
I know this only too well; my decade-long association with the industry has been both defining and empowering. Just as it is logical for this great city to have an international film festival that celebrates its spirit and rich cinematic heritage, it has been a natural step and an immense source of pride for me to support this festival and give it the stature it deserves.
