The London School of Economics will collaborate with Reliance Foundation, run by the promoters of India’s largest corporate house, for setting up world-class universities in the South-Asian nation.
Reliance Foundation is the philanthropy arm of Indian billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries group, while the LSE is one of the world’s most reputed business schools.
The LSE would collaborate with the Reliance Foundation in setting up world class Universities in India, LSE’s Professor Lord Nicholas Stern said here last night.

Most evenings at the London School of Economics (LSE), hordes of students and serious visitors crowd into varied lecture halls to listen to everyone from Nobel laureates to writers and politicians. Friday night, a scurrying student gives directions, “Oh, you mean that lecture by the wife of the richest man in India? It’s that way.”
The 230-seater Hong Kong theatre at LSE’s Clement House is, for a change, stuffed more with Armanis and Jamevars than student backpacks. Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani’s new 27-storey Mumbai skyscraper likely sets a record as the world’s most expensive residential home, according to Forbes magazine.
“India’s richest man, and the fourth-richest man in the world, has eschewed understatement,” the magazine said reporting Ambani’s plans to move into the 570-foot building, called Antila, this month.

India’s richest man, and the fourth-richest man in the world, has eschewed understatement and built a 27-story Mumbai skyscraper, as Forbes reported this morning. Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani plans to move into 570-foot building, called Antila, this month. But in addition to being an imposing postmodern edifice, it likely sets a record as the world’s most expensive residential home. The Telegraph reports the home is worth £630 million, or $1 billion. Yes, you read that right.

Nita Ambani to lecture at London School of Economics
Nita Ambani, wife of billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani , will deliver a lecture at the London School of Economics tomorrow on building institutions of excellence in India.
Nita would deliver the “C+J (sic) Modi/Narayanan PhD Fellowship Lecture” on October 15 and the session would be chaired by eminent businessman Professor Lord Meghnand Desai.
