Dhirubhai Ambani 76th birth anniversary today

The most enterprising Indian entrepreneur Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani, also known as Dhirubhai today turned 76.

Dhirubhai Ambani was an Indian rags-to-riches business tycoon who founded Reliance Industries in Mumbai with his cousin. It was indeed his Ambitious nature, prevalent in most Capricorns, which made such a phenomenal rise possible.

Dhiru Bhai Ambani built Indias largest private sector company. Created an equity cult in the Indian capital market. Reliance is the first Indian company to feature in Forbes 500 list

If you though there was no love left between estranged brothers Anil Ambani and Mukesh Ambani as many might have missed Anil’s warm gesture to his brother Mukesh in the movie 3 Idiots. The opening credits of the Reliance Big Pictures’ movie 3 Idiots thanked Mukesh Ambani. This raised many eyebrows as the two brother have had bitter relationship since splitting their family business a few years ago.

Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation: scholarships to SSC and HSC students

A function to felicitate meritorious students of Saurashtra and Kutch, under the auspices of Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation, will be held at 4 pm on December 26 in mini theatre at city’s Hemu Gadhvi auditorium.

Rajkot municipal commissioner DH Brahmbhatt will be the chief guest and will present about 70 meritorious rewards and undergraduate scholarships to SSC and HSC district toppers from Jamnagar, Rajkot, Diu, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Kutch, Porbandar and Junagadh. Brahmbhatt will also address the students and gathering on zero garbage living’.

It was a night of silver-tinted memories for Nita Ambani, interestingly set amidst diamonds, rubies and antique gold. Nita, who was present for the launch of a wedding jewellery store, recalled the time when she herself was shopping for it.

It was a family affair, as every Indian can understand. I was accompanied by my grandmother, my kaki, masi, besides ofcourse my mother, to buy the wedding set. Back then I had a very limited budget. I can’t even say how much, she demurs.

The head of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, is once again the wealthiest person in India. His net worth is put at 32 billion dollars, an increase of 54 percent from nearly 21 billion dollars last year, according to the latest Forbes‘ India Rich List.

India’s Ambanis ranked sixth richest in the world

Mukesh ranks 3rd, Anil stood 6th in ‘Forbes list of ten wealthiest CEOs’

Trailing behind him are Lakshmi Mittal with a net worth of 30 billion dollars, up 46 percent from 20.5 billion dollars, and Mukesh’s estranged brother, Anil, whose net worth of 17.5 billion dollars, 40 percent, higher than before, put him in the third place.

Ambani brothers oppose MoU disclosure

Locked in a bitter legal battle over supply and pricing of natural gas, Mukesh Ambani’s RIL and Anil’s RNRL buried the hatchet to jointly oppose a petition in Supreme Court seeking disclosure of the family agreement for division of assets and demerger of Reliance companies.

The petition was filed by a person who held shares in both RIL and RNRL. He questioned the basis for the demerger and division of companies based on a “secret” family agreement without it being put before the Board of Directors or being disclosed to shareholders.
