The ongoing corporate duel between the Ambani brothers on natural gas rights rocked the Lok Sabha on Wednesday with Samajwadi Party MPs forcing three adjournments. A day after Anil Ambani dared the Petroleum Ministry to take back the ownership of gas fields from his company, Reliance Natural Resources Limited (RNRL), MPs led by SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav blamed the government for its failure in ensuring supply of gas for RNRLs Dadri Power project in Uttar Pradesh.

Reliance Infrastructure announced Q1 profit at Rs 316.57 crore
Reliance Infrastructure Ltd has announced the Unaudited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2009. The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 3165.70 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 as compared to Rs 2525.40 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008. Total Income has increased from Rs 24005.50 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 to Rs 26905.10 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009.

Reliance BIG TV acquires PPV rights of Pakistani movie Khuda Kay Liye
Reliance BIG TV has bought the DTH rights for the Pakistani movie Khuda Kay Liye from Percept Picture Company.

Mumbai HC allows RIL to amend plea in suit against NTPC
The Bombay High Court today allowed Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) to amend its plea in its suit against National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).
Earlier a single-member Bench of the high court had given a similar order, against which NTPC had filed an appeal.
A Division Bench led by Chief Justice Swatenter Kumar today dismissed NTPC’s appeal.

Reliance Infrastructure to construct Rs 11,000-cr Mumbai Metro II project
Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group firm Reliance Infrastructure Ltd has bagged the Mumbai Metro II project, a 32-km elevated rail line between Charkop to Mankhurd in the suburbs.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) has awarded the contract of Mumbai Metro II project to us, for which we are setting up a separate SPV, Reliance Infra CEO and Whole-time Director Lalit Jalan told reporters here today.

SC decision on early hearing on Reliance gas supply case on Sept 1
The Supreme Court on Thursday said, it will give a date on September 1 to expedite the decision pertaining to the Krishna-Godavari basin gas dispute between Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries (RIL) and Anil’s Ambani’s Reliance Natural Resources (RNRL).
The matter will be taken up on September 1. On that day, we will give a short date for an early decision in the case, said a bench, headed by Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan. The court in its brief order said: List the matter on September 1 for directions. RNRL counsels Mukul Rohatgi and Mahesh Agrawal mentioned the matter before the bench, seeking an early decision in the case.

Reliance Money may merge with Reliance Equities
Amid media reports of Sudip Bandyopadhyay, CEO, Reliance Money, looking to exit the company by September, buzz on the Street is that Reliance Capital’s retail broking arm, Reliance Money, is likely to be merged with its institutional counterpart, Reliance Equities International.
Of the two, Reliance Equities is said to be on a stronger footing at the moment. This is not surprising, considering that the stock market rally since March this year has been driven by institutional investors. Market watchers say the merger, if it happens, makes sense in the current environment.

Reliance Mobile ties up with U.S. mobile game company Gameloft
Reliance Mobile, part of the Anil Ambani group, Monday said it has tied up with U.S.-based Gameloft, which specialises in developing mobile games based on celebrities and Hollywood movies.
Under the terms of the agreement, Gameloft will release a mobile game based on the life of American heiress and socialite Paris Hilton, called Paris Hilton’s Diamond Quest, the firm said in a statement.
