35 New Live Streaming Channels to Reliance GSM Subscribers
In a first of its kind effort, Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications (RCom), is all set to come up with 35 new live streaming channels to its GSM subscribers.
The private sector telecom company is already offering 13 news and other TV channels to its CDMA network.
For this purpose, RCom has tied-up with Hyderabad-based Apalya Technologies.
The services are branded as MimobiTV.

Fertiliser industries worried after HC verdict on RIL gas supply news
The fertiliser industry, which was granted the first right over gas from Reliance Industries‘ D6 fields in the Krishna-Godavari Basin, has raissed concern over the Anil Ambani-run Reliance Natural Resources Ltd getting the maximum gas allocation after the Bombay High Court order and sought firm assurance on uninterrupted supplies.
Fifteen urea-manufacturing plants were allocated the first 14.97 million standard cubic metres of output per day from D6 by a Pranab Mukherjee-headed cabinet committee before the elections.

RNRL writes second letter to Reliance Industries for talks on gas supply
Anil Ambani Group company Reliance Natural Resources is understood to have written another letter to Reliance Industries to find a way for an agreement for gas supply by the latter.
This is the second letter in as many days RNRL is shooting off to Mukesh Ambani-led RIL. However, no comments could be obtained either from RIL or RNRL.
Earlier on June 23, sources had said RNRL had written a letter to RIL seeking time and date for talks on the pact.

Tata Power won’t supply power to Reliance Infra after March
Tata Power on Thursday said it will not supply power to the Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Infrastructure post-March 2010, bringing to an end two-month-long speculation as to whether the two companies would sign an agreement.
Mumbai-based Tata Power, the largest private utility, has been supply-ing 500 mw of power to R-Infra since long, but there was no formal agreement between the two companies. The move will compound electricity woes for consumers in Mumbai’s suburban areas, especially after R-Infra recently hiked power tariffs due to a shortage in electricity supply.

Reliance Retail expecting to break even by this September
Reliance retail, reportedly, is expecting to break even at the store level in all cities, except Mumbai, this September. We will be able to generate cash at our stores by September, except in Mumbai, where real estate cost for our stores is still high, an anonymous company official was quoted in media reports as saying.
At present, RRL operates over 900 stores (including 50 in Mumbai) and has already achieved a break even at the store level in around one-third of the 80 cities it operates in, according to media reports. The official further stated, Stores in Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Orissa and half the ones in Delhi have broken even. Stores in the other metro, Kolkata, however, may fail.

Reliance Industries evaluating options after High Court order
Reliance Industries said on Thursday that it is evaluating options after Bombay High Court directed it to supply gas to Anil Ambani group firm RNRL at a previously agreed lower price.
We have time till July 15. We are still evaluating our options, RIL senior executive P M S Prasad said here.
Asked if RIL will file an appeal in the Supreme Court against the High Court order, he said: I can’t say.
RIL also said it cannot divert NTPC’s allocation for plants other than those in Kawas and Gandha due to pipeline capacity constraint.

Reliance Asset Management Singapore appoints new CEO Mr Shek Chee Seng
Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group firm Reliance Capital on Thursday said it has appointed Mr Shek Chee Seng as the CEO of its Singapore-based asset management subsidiary as part of plans to expand its financial services business across the globe.
Mr Chee Seng has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Reliance Asset Management (Singapore) Pte Ltd (RAMS), Reliance Capital said in a statement.
Mr Chee Seng, who was earlier with CITIC-Prudential Fund Management in China as its CEO, would directly report to Reliance Capital CEO and President (International Businesses) Mr Vikrant Gugnani, the company said.

RCom to introduce Re 1 per day pricing to drive VAS usage volumes
Private telecom major Reliance Communications on Tuesday said it plans to enhance its value added services usage significantly amongst subscribers by overhauling its plain pricing model.
The Anil Ambani-run company is moving away from the monthly consolidated subscription pricing module to a more shredded subscription module and is introducing a host of sachet pricing plans for its various value-added service offerings, a release said here.
