Mukesh Ambani is richest Indian in the world: Forbes
Mukesh Ambani, head honcho of petrochemical major Reliance Industries, is now the richest Indian in the world, as per the US magazine Forbes. Ambani displaced steel magnate Lakshi Niwas Mittal, the NRI chief of ArcelorMittal to bag the top spot.
Bill Gates on top
Ambani was ranked seventh-richest in the list of the world’s richest individuals, with a fortune of USD 19.5 billion, while software tycoon Bill Gates topped the list with a fortune of USD 40 billion. Mittal closely follows the RIL chief at the eighth spot with a net worth of USD 19.3 billion.
Anil Ambani, KP Singh slip
Anil Ambani is the next Indian on the list, ranked on 34, with a net worth of USD 10.1 billion. The younger Ambani, who was ranked sixth last year, is down due to a wealth erosion of USD 32 billion.
Similar is the fall of Kushal Pal Singh of DLF, who slipped to 98th place, after his fortune came down to USD 5 billion from USD 30 billion last year.
