Reliance Power to complete closure for Sasan UMPP by 2008 end

Anil Dhirubhai Ambani (ADA) group company Reliance Power Ltd (RPL) will complete financial closure for Rs 20,000 crore Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) by end of this calendar year, announced company chairman Anil Ambani.

Ambani was speaking a the annual general meeting of the company, here today.

R Power is developing 4,000 Mw UMPP in the Singrauli tehsil of Sidhi district in Madhya Pradesh.

The project is expected to become fully operational by 2013.

The company has qualified to bid for a 4,000 megawatt project at Tilaiya, in the Jharkhand, Ambani told the shareholders.
