Reliance Submits Dev Plan For 8 More KG Block Discoveries

The development plans for eight more gas discoveries has been submitted by the Reliance Industries in its prolific eastern offshore KG-D6 block.
The Reliance’s junior partner in KG-D6, Canada’s Niko Resources, reported, “The discoveries are adjacent to the Dhirubhai 1 and 3 gas fields that are currently under development.”

The production of Dhirubhai-1 and 3 discoveries are expected to commence by the end of September.
However, it is also being intended that Dhirubhai-1 and 3 facilites would be tied with eight satellite discoveries.
Niko further informed, “Numerous other prospects have been identified in deeper water areas of the block where further upside potential would be evaluated.”
Dhirubhai 1 and 3 fields are expected to deliver an initial output of 40 mn standard cubic meters per day, which is further expected to double in one years time. These fields are being brought in production by Reliance with an investment of US $ 5.2 bn.
Niko also reported that by June 30 a heavy sum of US $ 3.28 bn has already been invested. It further added, “Fourteen of the planned 18 Phase-I wells will be tied in after start-up.”
