Reliance ties up with Puja films to co-produce five movies
BIG Pictures, a division of Reliance Entertainment, and Vashu Bhagnani owned Puja films have inked a deal to co-produce five Hindi feature films over the next 24 months.
As per the agreement, the principal photography on two projects, ‘Do Knot Disturb’ and ‘Kal Kissney Dekha’, aimed for release during the first half of 2009, has already commenced.
“We are extremely happy to partner with Reliance Big Entertainment. This deal will bring about a synergy of the creative and production expertise of my company with the vast business knowledge of Reliance,” says Vashu Bhagnani, Chairman, Puja Films.
‘Do Knot Disturb’ is an out and out comedy film that will re-unite the hit pair of actor Govinda and director David Dhawan once again. The film that also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta, will have music by Nadeem Shravan, arranged by Viju Shah.
Meanwhile, ‘Kal Kissney Dekha’ is a young, romantic love story that will mark the debut of Jackky Bhagnani, son of Vashu Bhagnani, associated with hits like Coolie No. 1 (1995), Biwi No. 1 (1999) and Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hain (2001). Jackky will share the screen alongside Rishi Kapoor, Vaishali Desai and Archana Puran Singh. The movie is being directed by Vivek Sharma, last associated with ‘Bhootnath’.
Commenting on the development, Rajesh Sawhney, President - Reliance BIG Entertainment says, “We have already started work on the strategic marketing and distribution plan for these films and will endeavour to make these films available to the widest audience possible when these films release next year.”
