Reliance Infra bets big on urban transport
Reliance Infra (ADAG Group company), which has bid for the estimated Rs 2,000-crore Mumbai monorail project, is eyeing greater opportunities in the mass rapid transport business in the country.
The company has bid for metro rail project in Hyderabad and for monorail work in Chandigarh, a company official said.
“While the Hyderabad metro project would be 67 km long, the Chandigarh monorail would be for 35 km,” the official said.
The Rs 8,400-crore Hyderabad project would cover three routes. The Andhra Pradesh Government will also hold a stake in the project.
It will have 63 stations and all lines will have elevated metro rail system. The concession period of the project is 35 years including five years for construction.
